| Synopsis |
Robert Newman is in his final year
of university, working on
a thesis to prove pop music is killing the brain cells of
millions. The only problem is that he is overworked, tired, and
is having a crippling case of writers' block with only a week
before his proposal is due.
One day, while trying to get some work done on campus,
Robert gets hit on the head by an apple, and as a result his
worst nightmare comes true. From that moment on, he is
haunted by a horribly written, yet somehow catchy pop song
that is stuck in his head. He soon realizes to his dismay, that
the song has never been written and must be a creation of
his own mind.
Robert must find out why he is doing this to himself and how
to get rid of the song for good. He looks for help from every
source; he calls the public health hotline, tries to drown the
song out, and even tries yoga and meditation.
Nothing works, the attacks only get worse, and an emotional
encounter with his friend, Samantha sends him over the edge.
Without any more options, he seeks the help of a peculiar
analyst, Dr. Jorgensen, whose unorthodox methods leave
Robert more confused than when he started. Will Robert ever
rid himself of the song or will it drive him insane for good?
